CHESTER, SC (AP) -
A skydiver has died after a hard landing at an airport in South Carolina.
Chester County Emergency Management director Eddie Murphy said authorities were called to an airport in Chester just after 10:15 a.m. Sunday.
Clarence Huggins, 45, of Fayetteville was taken to a hospital, where he died, according to the Chester Co. Coroner's Office.
Skydive Carolina said Huggins was a highly experienced skydiver with over 2,000 jumps over under his belt.
Murphy said the accident had nothing to do with the plane that was used. Murphy also didn't know how many other people were in the skydiving group, or if Huggins had been strapped to another person during the jump.
The jump was coordinated through a company called Skydive Carolina. General manager James LaBarrie didn't immediately return a message.
