CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
A mother and son suspected of robbing a north Charlotte bank were
appointed a public defender in court Monday.
Police got a 911 call about a robbery at about 6 Friday evening.
An officer on the way to the bank observed two people at a nearby bus stop who
had the ink used in bank dye packs on their clothes. They also matched the
descriptions of the robbery suspects.
The officer stopped and questioned the man and woman at the bus stop. He
then searched them, and discovered a note that appeared to have been used in
the bank robbery, as well as the cash from the bank.
Detectives charged Carlos Lamonte Simpson, 21, and his mother Pamela
Simpson, 48, with common law robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Their next court date is November 16.
