Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid has been a member of the U.S. Senate since 1986. (Source: Wikicommons)LAS VEGAS (RNN) - Senate majority leader Harry Reid is in the hospital following a car crash in Las Vegas.
According to affiliate KVVU, Reid was involved in a six car accident Friday afternoon on Interstate 15. It happened around 1:10 Pacific time.
Reid was taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where a spokesperson said he was in "good" condition.
The senator "experienced rib and hip contusions and has been cleared for release by the doctors," according to a statement released by his office.
Some of his detail and staff also received minor injuries and were evaluated at the hospital.
Earlier in the day, Reid had been on hand for the dedication of the Atomic Testing Museum, a science museum.
Reid has been a member of the Senate since 1986.
