BOONE, NC (WBTV) -
Deputies in Watauga County are in the middle of a drug investigation. The investigation led deputies to a home on Long Street in Boone earlier this month.
Investigators say while searching that home, they found 24 grams of crystal methamphetamine and $5,756. Investigators also found drug paraphernalia.
Baxter Smith James, 68, was arrested on several charges: possession-intent to sell methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a felon, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
James was taken to the Watauga County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
Investigators just released this information and say more arrests are expected.
