LANCASTER, SC (WBTV) -
A Lancaster man was arrested for stealing an air conditioning unit from a local church, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.
Jessie Lee Dobson, 20, of Cherrystone Road in Lancaster, was arrested and charged with grand larceny $2,000-$10,000.
Between July 29, and August 02, Dobson stole the air conditioning unit from the outside of New Cut Presbyterian Church, located on New Cut Church Road. He also attempted to steal a second unit but was unsuccessful, deputies said.
Dobson was linked to the crime through DNA evidence left at the scene, the report states.
Dobson was also charged with simple possession of marijuana after deputies who located him for the outstanding larceny warrant found a small amount of it in his possession, deputies said.
Dobson was jailed at the Lancaster County Detention Center. He was released on Thursday on a $15,000 bond.
