Police: Man intentionally rammed woman's car after dispute

A dispute in a Walmart parking lot led to attempted murder charges against a Lancaster man when he rammed a woman with his car, according to the Lancaster Police Department.

The incident began Monday around 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart located on Bypass 9 West in Lancaster with a man, Dennis Reid, 44, arguing with his child's mother, the report states.

The woman, who told police Reid was beating on her vehicle's windows and even broke the mirror off, tried to drive away. That's when Reid rammed her car with his own at the intersection in from of the store, police said.

After Reid struck the victims car he reportedly lost control of his vehicle before jumping from it and running away, witnesses told police.

Reid was caught behind a business near the scene of the wreck and taken into custody.

He is charged with attempted murder and third degree assault and battery. He was denied bond.
