BURKE COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Deputies in Burke County say a man will appear in court Monday after he stabbed another man.
They say they got a 911 call on Claude Brittain Road on Sunday. When deputies arrived, they found the victim, Bryan Cook of Hickory, lying on his neighbor's front porch, bleeding from stab wounds. Cook was airlifted to a hospital in Tennessee. His condition is unclear.
Officers then went to Cook's home next door and found the suspect, 39-year-old Dwayne Howard Abee of Connelly Springs. Detectives interviewed witnesses and collected enough evidence to charge Abee with the crime. He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and is being held in a county jail on $100,000 bond.
