CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -
Two tractor trailers and one vehicle were involved in an accident on I-85 southbound at Freedom Drive just after 7:00 a.m.
At one point two people were trapped and the Charlotte Fire Department had to be dispatched to the scene.
Three people were taken to the hospital. One had injuries described as very serious.
Multiple lanes were blocked as the accident scene was being investigated. As of 8:00 a.m., all lanes reopened but there are still some residual delays.
