Most of the people in Wingate are being forced to brush their teeth with bottled water Thursday morning.
That's because town utility officials say they had to shut off water service in some communities due to a water main break in front of Wingate University.
The main broke on Highway 74 and Camden Street sometime early Thursday morning, police say.
As crews work on patching up the pipe, one westbound lane of Highway 74 is closed.
A WBTV photographer at the scene tells us there are minimal delays, as of 7am.
The town hopes to restore water service to all residents by mid-morning. WBTV.com is working to gather more information. Please check back throughout the morning for updates.
