CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Officials with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are making a big push to get students who dropped out to come back to class.

The district is making door-to-door pleas to the students who dropped out. CMS says 700 students just didn't show up this year. So far, officials have visited 103 homes to make their plea for the students to return to school.

Of the students who received a visit, 18 re-enrolled in classes. Another 419 students were given other options to earn a high school diploma.

The program is ongoing.
