One family is really opening up their home to politics!
The Shealy family in Charlotte hosted a gathering they call – "North Carolina Parents for Obama" Sunday afternoon.
The family says that they are concerned about growing the economy through the middle class -- and they believe education is the way to do it.
Luci Gates is only 13 and tries to get involved as much as she can with her mom.
The13-year-old says that she is trying to help more often now. Even though she can't vote or do anything like that, she likes to volunteer with her mother. She has fun and she has fun and that she has become closer with mom because of it.
The group's kick-off event hopes to get more people involved in the coming weeks.
