Decision Day: Is Willie Grimes innocent or guilty?

Good morning! T.G.I.F. It's October 5. This is Christine Nelson with your first look at the stories we're covering on WBTV News This Morning from 4:30-7:00 a.m. There is a lot to go over this morning.

Later today a local man, who spent over 20 years in prison for a rape he says he didn't commit, could have his name cleared today. Willie Grimes' case goes before a three-judge panel following closing arguments today. We found out the evidence the judges will have to pour over to come to a decision. Plus, Grimes could walk away with a six-figure compensation for a wrongful conviction. Cam Man Ron Lee has all those details and more in a live report.

He was relieved of his duties at Charlotte-based Chiquita. But former CEO Fernando Aguirre won't be leaving with empty pockets. The golden parachute he's being given now that the company has found his replacement.

Plus, have you seen how low mortgage rates have gotten? You have to tune in to hear where the number stands now. Especially if you're in the market to refinance and lower your monthly payments.

#BigBird has issued a statement following his "rise" again in the national spotlight from the presidential debate. We'll read the comment from Sesame Street now that one of its most recognized characters has hit the political circuit.

See you on the air!

Christine
