Former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory is racking up the fundraising dollars in North Carolina. Tuesday, the campaign announced it raised $3.1 million for the three months ending September 30. Entering the last five weeks of the race, the campaign has $2.3 million in cash. The Associated Press reports the Republican candidate has raised about $9.5 million this election cycle.
Wednesday, McCrory's campaign rolled out a list of nearly 150 Democrats in 72 counties that are heading up a coalition aimed at electing him.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton's campaign said Tuesday it had endorsements from national fair-pay advocate Lilly Ledbetter and the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
A Dalton campaign spokesman said the lieutenant governor has been encouraged by his financial support but will release numbers when next required on October 29. McCrory had a 6-to-1 cash advantage over Dalton as of June 30.
