Panthers prepare to host the Seahawks

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A rough start to the season as the one and three Carolina Panthers host the 2-2 Seattle Seahawks Sunday, October 7. At open locker room today, many players emphasized the importance of focusing on the next week rather than fixating on a loss.

Steve Smith said short term memory is key in this industry because it's a long season and there are many games still to come.

Captain Munnerlyn agreed with that sentiment saying he's already forgotten about Atlanta with the Seahawks on his mind.
Players like Marshawn Lynch and Sidney Rice are the cats' concern in preparing to host Seattle.
Charles Johnson said Lynch is a key role in the Seahawks' success because he's quick and doesn't hesitate when making plays. Coach Ron Rivera agreed saying Lynch was a blend of what the Panthers' Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams have with quick speed and power.

Coach Rivera had confidence in the Panthers' defense saying the way they played in the beginning of the Atlanta game, is the best he's seen in a while and now that they've shown they can play that way, they have to do it every week.
