Alert: Expect rainfall, wet streets during early part of commute

Good morning! We're starting off the first day of October with some fall rain! This is Christine Nelson with your first look at the stories we're covering on WBTV News This Morning from 4:30-7:00 a.m.

Alert: Give yourself some extra travel time this morning and dress accordingly. Rain is falling in the 4 a.m. hour right now and we have been looking at the First Alert Power Doppler Network...that rainfall is going to be around throughout the morning. Meteorologist Al Conklin has been tracking this system. Every 10 minutes he's going to pinpoint where it's falling so make sure you're tuned in so we can get you out the door with the best information on the forecast.

Also, we're getting official word on a cause of death on the Appalachian State University student whose body was found on campus. The autopsy results we obtained explains what happened.

We're going to let you hear the eyewitness account of a plane crash in Rowan County. The pilot died. We found out the FAA will be in the area today investigating.
