United States Marshals in Pennsylvania arrested a Charlotte man who was wanted on kidnapping and torture charges.
Marshals told WBTV News they arrested Shahid Muslin, 29, without incident, in downtown Pittsburgh early Thursday morning.
The crime happened on September 21, 2012 at the Microtel Inn located on the 1600 block of Matthews Mint Hill Road, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
A search of Muslin's criminal record in Mecklenburg County turned up numerous arrests on drug, weapons and violent assault charges. His last arrest was in February of this year.
Detectives from the CMPD have not released any details about the latest kidnapping and torture charges.
Marshals were acting on a tip from the FBI that Muslin was traveling by bus through the Pennsylvania area.
Muslin is in custody at the Allegheny County Jail awaiting extradition.
