CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
Charlotte police say they have arrested a man and charged him in the murder of a west Charlotte man from early Thursday morning.
Connell Montigo Muskelly, 26, is charged with murder, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Muskelly was arrested on the 3100 block of Boyd Street around 10:30 a.m., police said.
Johnny Peay, 25, of Charlotte, was pronounced dead at 4:59 a.m. at Carolinas Medical Center, according to a news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The call came in to the dispatch center at 4:13 a.m. for an assault with a deadly weapon on the 1800 block of Garibaldi Avenue.
