STATESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -
A Statesville man is on the run after police say he shot his wife multiple times in an attempt to kill her.
Cisneros Genaro Morales, 51, is wanted by police for attempted murder, according to a news release from the Statesville Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to Iredell Fiber on Fanjoy Road around 9:33 p.m. Monday night in response to a shooting call.
Officers found Guadalupe Tornez Casiano Morales suffering from several gunshot wounds, according to the release.
She was standing outside her vehicle during a meal break when she was shot. Morales was able to run to the door of the business and get inside, police said.
Her husband, who shot her, is still on the run.
