A Crouse man was arrested Friday by Lincoln County Sheriff's Detective Dan Renn on child sexual assault charges.
Eddy Shane Heavner, 34, of Crouse, is charged with one felony count each of Statutory Rape/Sexual Offense of a 13, 14 or 15 year old by a defendant who is six years older and Taking Indecent Liberties with a Child, according to a news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
Detective Renn charged Heavner in connection with an incident that occurred on January 8, 2012 involving a 14-year-old female. The incident occurred at a home belonging to a relative of the victim. The suspect knew the victim but they were not related.
Detective Renn stated that Heavner was a coach with the West Lincoln Optimist and an assistant coach with the Cherryville Optimist team but the incident was unrelated to team sports at either location.
Eddy Shane Heavner was processed and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond. He has a first appearance in Lincoln County District Court on September 24th.
