Big spotlight for small faces

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Some little faces are getting some pretty big recognition.

"That I was going to be on TV," said Victoria Inn.

Victoria and Rakin's self-portraits will be displayed at this year's Festival in the Park.

"I drew my hair straight and I got dreads," said Rakin Crowell.

The first graders paintings are two of only four pictures chosen to represent their University Park Creative Arts Elementary School.

"It gets them excited besides being our school they get to see their art in a different place," said their art teacher Lauren Griffin.

With a lot of hard work these two young artists earned their place along 1000 other artists to be featured at the festival.

"I get to draw whatever I want," said Victoria.

"We like it because we like school," said Rakin.

The tiny Picasso's in training are already expecting rave reviews.

"To say it's nice," said Rakin.

"I want them to see all my art work I did at home and at school," said Victoria.
