CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - It's not something you see everyday in Uptown Charlotte. Dozens of screaming people with arms out-stretched asking anyone who passes by for a hug.
Paul Mitchell the School took part in a nationwide celebration of Free Hugs Day. They carried hand-made signs that simply said "free hugs".
Students or "Future Professionals" take part in the hug mob every year. This year it was no surprise to see some people turn away or ask what the gimmick was.
There is no gimmick students told curious on-lookers, just hugs.
