Statesville QB out three weeks

Statesville, NC (WBTV) -Statesville High School starting quarterback Carlis Parker will miss the next three weeks due to a meiscus tear in his left knee.

The Virginia Tech commit will be replaced by East Carolina commit Tristan Mumford who played quarterback most of 2011 when Carlis injured his right knee. Mumford threw for 1,427 yards an 16 touchdowns.

Statesville hosts West Rowan Friday night in the WBTV Football Friday Night Ford Game of the Week. West Rowan head coach Scott Young says Mumford looks the part of a true college quarterback with his physique of 6'1 225 pounds.
