The Streetcar Project has been pushed back until the summer of 2015.
A memo from City Manager Milton Dohoney to City Council says the two year construction project, with an additional six months for testing and commissioning, will begin revenue service in 2015. The memo states that the City is working with CAF-USA to complete contract negotiations to create the first all low-floor modern streetcar in the country.
The City has also reached a deal to buy property on Elm Street which will become the location where the vehicles will be maintained.
