CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
Family and friends of Crystal Morrison held a prayer and candlelight vigil for the missing 31-year-old Sunday.
Morrison, was last seen on Thursday, August 23, at about 10:30 a.m. She was walking on International Drive, near the intersection of Davidson Highway in Concord, NC, police say.
Morrison's father told WBTV his daughter called a friend to pick her up from work because she was feeling sick. When the friend arrived, Morrison wasn't there.
Morrison is approximately 5'3" tall, with blonde/red hair and blue eyes. She is approximately 100 pounds.
She was last seen wearing a white blouse with black flower print, black pants and black open toed shoes.
She also has a tattoo on her neck with the name of her son, Kyson.
A billboard near the Charlotte Motor Speedway now flashes her photo and information. The space was donated for the family.
Flyers are also posted around area businesses and family and friends wear buttons with a blue ribbon, Morrison's favorite color in hopes someone will recognize her and call police.
During Sunday's prayer service, Morrison's sister showed a slideshow of photos of a smiley blond twirling her son on the beach. Mechelle Carey says the family is rallying around Morrison's son and trying to keep his spirits up. She says the young woman would never just walk off and leave her son.
Friends stood up during the service to say that it is imperative to keep telling Crystal's story on social media sites. A facebook page has been set up called Help Find Crystal Morrison.
I do [believe she is ok] and the reason is, if I don't believe that I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. So we believe she is okay and going to come home to us, Carey said.
Police call this a baffling case with no good clues to go. They've looked at surveillance video from surrounding businesses and talked to people who live and drive in the area.
Crystal Morrison has medical issues that are a concern.
Anyone with any possible information regarding her location, or anyone that might have seen her, is asked to call the Concord Police Department at 704-920-5000, or Cabarrus Crime Stoppers at 704-932-7463 (704-93-CRIME).
