CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The old tried and true test of knocking on a watermelon to test it's ripeness has gone high tech.

Now there's an app for that.

The makers of the Melon Meter App say you can use the iPhone, along with the knock test, to determine which watermelon to buy.

Kristen and Ashley put it to the test on WBTV News Saturday Morning.
