SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -
A Rowan County man was charged with stealing guns, a cross bow and ammunition from home earlier this week, the Rowan County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies were called to a home in the 500 block of Barber Junction Road in Cleveland around 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
The homeowner told officers the weapons 4 guns, the crossbow and ammunition had been taken.
Shortly after leaving the scene, deputies received a call that a suspicious person walking on Old Highway 70 near Barber Junction Road.
Richard Lee Wright III was found walking along the road carrying a large bag concealing one of the stolen shotguns, according to the sheriff's office.
Detectives found two more of the stolen guns and ammunition at Wright's home in the 1880 block of Hildebrand Road.
Wright was charged with felony Breaking and Entering and Larceny, three counts of felony Larceny of a Firearm and felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
Investigators said Wright has a previous record of breakin arrests.
