CHARLOTTE (WBTV) – Now that the DNC has changed the venue for the closing night of the Democratic National Convention, security restrictions around Time Warner Arena will remain in place through early Friday morning, September 7.
This affects vehicle, pedestrian and other security measures.
This comes with good news for commuters. The road closures, parking and pedestrian restrictions scheduled to be implemented for Thursday near the Bank of America Stadium will be lifted, including restrictions on I-277 which will now remain open, according to a DNC news release sent Tuesday afternoon.
Additional information on updates to the current vehicle and pedestrian restrictions, as well as city transit and other services will be provided as it becomes available. Temporary security restrictions not previously identified may be necessary and may not be announced in advance.
