CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - With warm air and plenty of tropical moisture moving in to the Carolinas, the main ingredients are there for the development of strong to severe storms starting this afternoon.
As the remnants of Tropical Storm Isaac move in from the West, it will bring plentiful Gulf moisture with it, increasing rain chances throughout the next few days. The best rain chances this week will be on Labor Day and into Tuesday, the first day of the Democratic National Convention.
With these storms, we could see heavy downpours that could bring minor street flooding. Strong, gusty winds are also possible.
Keep in mind that many Uptown events will not allow you to bring umbrellas, so plan on bringing alternate rain gear with you if your plans include any DNC events.
