More opportunity to recycle Uptown

Posted: Updated:

The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services installed three additional dual station BigBelly containers Uptown to provide visitors with an increased opportunity to recycle and properly dispose of trash.

The solar-powered containers are funded through a sponsorship agreement with Duke Energy. They are wrapped with recycling messages.

You can find the new containers at the following sites:

  • 200 East Stonewall and College Street (across from the Westin Hotel)
  • 400 South College Street (across from Fuel Pizza; at the Convention Center's front entrance)
  • 200 East Trade Street and College Street (at the EpiCentre)

In addition, Solid Waste Services has installed 45 new steel recycling containers Uptown (read more here) and partnered with ReCommunity to wrap the containers with sustainability messages. The partnership includes purchasing 17 additional steel recycling containers soon to be installed Uptown.
