War waged on West Nile virus after local woman dies

Good afternoon, Maureen O'Boyle here with some of the stories we're working on for you at 5:00.

A local woman has died from the West Nile Virus.  The virus is carried by birds, and transferred to humans by mosquitoes.  We're on the front lines tonight of a new war in our area to protect you and your family.  We'll have a live report at 5:00.

Paul's got video of something rare in his Crimestoppers report: a hold-up at a big box store at closing time.  Remember if you help solve a crime you could earn a $1,000 reward.

While CMPD officers focus on the convention, volunteers will be directing traffic on some roads near local schools.  We're asking if they're equipped to keep drivers and our kids safe!

Please join Paul Cameron, Eric Thomas, me and the entire WBTV news team beginning at 5:00.
