Uptown fencing to be DNC field operations for some city departments

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

City officials are beginning to get some of their field operations in place for the Democratic National Convention.

You may have seen this fencing going up around 9th and Caldwell in Charlotte.

The city says this is going to be operations for a couple of departments. For example, a temporary fire station will be located here.

The fire department has about 40 fire fighters dedicated to respond to DNC calls in Uptown. We're told this is also where the horses will be stabled.

The City says people won't be able to climb the fence.
