The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help in locating a man wanted for stealing more than 150 car batteries.

Deputies are looking for 46-year old Jeffrey Bernard McKnight, according to a news release.

Authorities say on August 15, McKnight broke into the storage cage behind Walmart located at 10048 Charlotte Hwy in Indian Land.  Once inside, they say he carried away batteries valued at approximately $1,350 dollars.

In surveillance photos, a suspect can be seen entering the cage.  He can also be seen wearing a yellow safety vest in what appears to be an attempt to make him look like an employee.  The suspect's vehicle, a dark colored SUV, can also be seen.

The sheriff's office has issued a warrant charging McKnight with Burglary. He is currently wanted, but has not been located.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information regarding McKnight's whereabouts to call the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office at 283-4136 or contact Crimestopper's at 1-888-Crime SC (1-888-274-6372) or you can e-mail or text your anonymous tip to: www.midlandscrimestoppers.com
