CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
A tractor trailer is engulfed in flames in the northbound lanes of Interstate 85 heading into Charlotte.
WBTV's Kristy Etheridge says traffic is backing up for several miles as the tractor trailer is blocking several lanes.
A Red Nissan and a tractor trailer appear to have crashed into one another and are facing the opposite direction on the interstate, Etheridge says.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have shot down the northbound lanes at Little Rock Road have been closed.
At least one person was killed in the crash, according to first responders.
The crash is just past Exit 30 at the Interstate 85/485 interchange.
