Hello again everyone, it's Paul Cameron in the WBTV newsroom.
Tonight at 5:00PM—a tragic day in Rowan County as three people lost their lives in two separate car accidents. We're just getting details into the newsroom, but it appears two of the deaths were students at West Rowan High School on this, the first day of classes.
We're also covering the return of a hero. The body of US Army Specialist James Justice was brought home to Shelby today for interment. Justice was only 21-years old. He was wounded by enemy fire while fighting in Afghanistan, then died at a military hospital in Germany.
Tropical Storm Isaac may soon become a full-fledged hurricane which is moving slowly through the Gulf with its eyes on New Orleans. Eric Thomas says the problem with this storm won't just be the winds. Storm surge and the fact it is moving so slowly means hours of wind and rain in low-lying areas.
