The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash in the 6900 block of Old Mt. Holly Road Sunday.
A 2001 Honda Civic driven by 25-year-old Elvin Arnando Cornejo Ortez ran off the roadway and overturned. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Medic. The passenger, Loius Ochoa, was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The Major Crash Investigations Unit of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to investigate the crash. Speed and alcohol are factors.
