CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – With Charlotte's Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure" less than two months away, walkers and runners all over the Charlotte region are gearing up to raise money to fight breast cancer.
A group of survivors from Charlotte can be seen dancing in a new video, meant to spread the word about the race. Click here to watch the video on YouTube, choreographed by Queen City DanceOut.
"Race for the Cure" is Saturday, October 6th. The non-competitive race starts at 7:45am in Marshall Park in Uptown Charlotte. Last year, 25,000 people joined hearts and spirits to help find a cure.
WBTV is once again a media sponsor of this huge event. This year we have two teams. We invite you to join either one! Morning Anchor John Carter is the captain of "Team John" and Evening Anchor Molly Grantham is the captain of "Team Molly". Their team links are below. If you register, you get two t-shirts. A Komen "Race for the Cure" t-shirt and a WBTV Boob Tube t-shirt. You can bring your children, friends or family.
We'd love to have you walking or running with us to help find a cure for this nasty disease which impacts one in eight women.
