We are one week and counting from the first day back to school for Charlotte Mecklenburg School students but you're going to see a lot of buses on the road in Charlotte TODAY. That's because bus drivers will be doing a dry-run today and buses start rolling out soon...at 5:00 a.m.! Cam man Ron Lee is at the bus depot now on Wilkinson Boulevard to tell us why buses will be practicing their routes for several hours today. There are also several South Carolina schools that go back to school today and through the week. We'll have all that information for you as well.

Our Astrid Martinez has an interesting look at a group of students getting ready for back-to-school. They're working to get their high-school diploma, while raising a child of their own. The program that's offered in Charlotte to help them accomplish their academic goals.

A controversial statement about rape and pregnancy has a long-time congressman back-pedaling this morning. We'll tell you what he said that has him apologizing to rape victims, and show how it already is making its way into the presidential campaign hot topics.

A good amount of rain fell overnight and the road are wet this morning! Al Conklin will pinpoint where the rain is now and Tonya Rivens will break down what the commute looks like not only on the ground, but also in the air with the help of Sky 3 this morning!
