Fuel leak shuts down Tryon

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

South Tryon Street was closed today for nearly almost two hours, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

The closure began when a commercial truck began leaking diesel fuel near the intersection of Tryon and Arrowood Road, police say.

CFD told WBTV that approximately 50 gallons of the fuel ran into a storm drain, and that a clean-up company had to be called in to contain the mess.

There is no word on what may have caused the leak at this time.
