Shelby, NC (WBTV) -The Shelby Golden Lions got their high school football varsity season home opener started early with a Thursday night match-up againg powerhouse A.L. Brown because Shelby is scheduled to host the American Legion World Series on campus tomorrow.
A.L. Brown jumped out quickly and never took their foot off the gas. They got first half touchdowns from Kalif Phillips and Robert Pinkston to lead 16-0 at halftime. Then they poured it on in the second half on their way to a season opening 44-0 road victory.
