DALLAS, NC (WBTV) - They haven't even given her a name. For now, the 150 pound pot-bellied pig at Gaston County Animal Control goes by #421.
Officials there know she won't be around long enough for them to get attached. The pig was picked up Sunday night after being found wandering on the county's east side. No one has come to claim her, so Friday morning, she is up for adoption.
"We've got several rescue groups interested in adopting her," said Gaston County Animal Control Supervisor Steven Hay.
Hay says the swine was likely a pet that was abandoned by her owners after outgrowing her home.
The story could have ended much differently for #421, but Hay says she'll now likely be taken in by one of the rescues and found a loving home.
