Family of 5 displaced after apartment fire

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A fire displaced a family of five Tuesday at an east Charlotte apartment complex.

The Charlotte Fire Department told WBTV that the fire broke out around 3 p.m. at the Claremont town homes on Coliseum Drive. It took 27 firefighters only 17 minutes to knock the fire out.

A mother and four children were displaced by the fire, and the Red Cross is assisting the family, according to CFD.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

There were no injuries reported.
