YORK, SC (WBTV) -
A York woman told deputies that a man assaulted her and held her a knife point inside a camper at Ebenezer Campground.
The incident was reported Sunday morning in a camper on the 4400 block of Boatshore Road, according to the report from the York County Sheriff's Office.
JaTaune Tyrone Richardson, 35, of Lancaster, is wanted by deputies for kidnapping and aggravated assault.
The victim told sheriff's deputies that Richardson forced her into his car and drove off from the campground, according to the report.
Richardson pulled off at the Interstate 77 weigh station where he began to beat the victim. When she tried to escape, he grabbed her by the hair and forced her back into the car, driving back to the campground.
He then tied her wrists and ankles and held a knife to her throat, threatening her life. When she went to the restroom, she escaped from the camper and called 911.
A park ranger spotted Richardson leaving the area on foot through a wooded area into an adjacent neighborhood.
The victim was taken to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment.
