An industrial accident in southwest Mecklenburg County killed one person and hurt a second person.
Paramedics and firefighters were called to 9225 Forsyth Park Drive, off Westinghouse Boulevard at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators said two men were picking up a cabinet from Parker Hannifin when materials fell on them. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Wednesday, the North Carolina Department of Labor said the man was a private contractor who drove trucks for Landstar. His name has not been released.
The person who was hurt was taken to Carolinas Medical Center - Pineville, and is expected to be OK.
Investigators with the Department of Labor are checking to see if they have jurisdiction over the accident.
