Mass shooting near Texas A&M Campus

Hello again everyone, it's Paul Cameron in the WBTV newsroom.

Tonight at 5:00PM—we're just getting reports of a mass shooting blocks away from the Texas A&M campus.  At least two people are dead.  One is a constable and authorities say they have the shooter in custody.

With a snappy salute, the pilot of a Charlotte-based C-130 lifted off to go fight more western wildfires.  It's the first mission for the 1459th airlift wing since four fellow guardsmen were killed fighting fires last month.  We're asking the crew to share their thoughts as they put their lives on the line.

CMPD's latest techno-gizmo went on line today.  It's called a shotspotter and can pinpoint the location of any gunshot sound it hears in the city.  This gives police a quicker response to potential trouble.

It was a restful night for evangelist Billy Graham.  Reverend Graham was admitted to the hospital with bronchitis.  He now 93 and was treated for pneumonia last winter.
