If you give a pint of blood, you can help your local school district, if you do it before the end of the September.
The Community Blood Centers of the Carolinas have kicked off its second annual Pints for Pencils campaign. Over the next two months, the CBCC will give your a local school district $1 for school supplies, every time a person gives blood. Pints for Pencils is one of several ways the organization supports local students, who make up over 20 percent of its donor base.
Jennifer Krupa of the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas spoke to WBTV's Sarah Batista about the program on WBTV News Sunday Morning.
