Spartanburg, SC (WBTV) -The Panthers got receiver Steve Smith back Thursday at practice in Spartanburg, but they lost linebacker Jon Beason for Saturday's pre-season home opener against the Houston Texans due to a hamstring injury suffered Wednesday at practice.
The hamstring injury is in the same leg that he tore his achilles tendon last year causing him to pretty much miss the entire season.
The hope to have their all pro linebacker back in the mix next week at Camp Wofford.
