Shelby, NC (WBTV) -Wednesday marked the first day that schools in North Carolina could scrimmage so Shelby hosted Crest and South Carolina powers Gaffney and York.
It was actually York's second scrimmage and Coach Bobby Carroll's team looked sharp.
Crest coch Mark Barnes lit a fire under his defense and that prompted an interception by sophomre Dominique Roseboro.
Host school Shelby looked good as well with their spread offense led by new quarterback Spencer Clark who threw a touchdown pass to Andre Ussery.
The regular season gets underway next Friday August 17th
