Three people shot during house party

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police say three people were shot during an argument at a "liquor house" early Sunday morning.

The calls to 911 came in around 4:30am of an apparent shooting involving two men, but it's what police found when they arrived that surprised them.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers rushed to a home on Lucena Street to find the two gunshot victims.

One was shot in the neck, the other was hit twice in the torso.

Both men were taken to the hospital with, at that time were described as life-threatening wounds.  Calls to officials early Monday morning had their condition upgraded to serious but stable.

A third victim, a woman, showed up at the emergency room later in the morning.  She had what was described a bullet graze to the head.  She is expected to be okay.

None of the victims have been named as of yet.

It was after the dust settled that investigators went to work, and say they discovered the reports this happened at a house party weren't exactly accurate.

The home, according to police, was being used as a "liquor house".  It was a private home that sold alcohol without the proper ABC permits, and it's highly illegal.

Officials said most of the people were there to buy liquor, and didn't even know each other.

It's unknown what charges may be pending.
