CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -- Would you pack up and move everything out of your home for an entire week to rent out your home for the Democratic National Convention?
Homeowners like Janell Sheffield say they won't hesitate to do just that.
Sheffield and her husband live right off Morehead street within walking distance from Bank of America Stadium.
"I'm not gonna be able to get down our street," she said.
It's why she and her husband are trying to rent out their house for that entire week.
"We figure it's gonna be a madhouse down here anyway, so we're gonna leave town and we might as well make some extra money while we can," Sheffield said.
But competition is stiff. Sites like DNC Digs, DNC rentals --even Craigslist are chock full of listings for homes to rent during the DNC.
"They're going as far as Lake Norman, Concord," she said.
So what makes the Sheffield's home more appealing? Location: they say it's a major selling point.
"You can walk to the stadium," she said. "You can walk to the arena, that's the nice part about it. There will be events, we got a lot of location close to here that are having a lot of DNC events."
Sheffield said they have had interest from across the country, even internationally.
All of them legit.
I thought we'd be like spammed to death and we have not at all," she said. "Everybody is asking legitimate questions. Deposits, how many can it sleep?"
Nothing is concrete yet, which is why Sheffield said nothing is off the table.
"I will gladly go grocery shopping for anyone who wants to rent my house," she said.
