Thief steals donation jar for teen with cancer

Rock Hill Police are searching for a thief who took off with a donation jar that was meant to help a local teen.

Police reports state the man entered the Scott's Food Store on the corner of Cherry and Heckle this week. Surveillance video shows the man stand at the counter and wait for the clerk to turn his back, then reach for the donation jar.

The donation jar was on the counter to help raise money for Emily Elkins. She's a local teen who was diagnosed with bone tissue cancer in May.

The jar had approximately $70 in it when it was taken.
